Karrek 1/ beeswax/ thread/ 2023
This sculpture is exploring the form memory can take.
The starting point was a small cornish rock taken from the beach of Marazion.
The assembled beeswax fragments of ‘Karrek 1’are thin skins of beeswax cast from the rock and joined together through stitching.
The form of the rock is in this way repeated hundreds of times. A familiarity with form and materials.

Opa’s Haus/ black paper/ graphite/ 2023
Graphite drawings on black paper re-drawing a drawing my grandfather made 100 years ago. Looking at the light that he worked with when he was observing and making his drawing.
A haunting of sorts.

Karrek 2/ black paper/ graphite/ 2023
Graphite drawings on black paper.
A daily drawing exercise to focus on one small rock.
Observing the surrounding light and resulting shadow, growing and awareness of change and mark making in the observational process.

Working with Anais (from Ann-Margeth):
”She inquired about the work sensitively before taking any of these images. I successfully use these images to apply for exhibitions and any other promotional material. I was amazed how Anais worked with the best angles for lighting she could get as the images on black paper are difficult to light well.  We had initial difficulties trying to find a good light source but Anais observed and solved the problem in a calm and creative way that assured me all along that we would get the results i was looking for.”
